Our 3rd Grader!

August 24th, 2011
Today Xander started 3rd grade! We started the morning with scramble eggs and a whole wheat cinnimon waffle for breakfast. He didn't have much time to waste so he got dressed for school and off we went. This year he gets to line up at the 'big kid door' since his school is k-3. His teacher is Mrs. Goule and I hear from other parents she is a good one! I hope! Unfortunately, his best friends Spencer is not in his class this year. He is looking forward to making new friends and seeing his old friends at recess and lunch.

On our way to school!
(of course he's happy-just doesn't wanna show it. ha)

I couldn't wait to pick him up and hear about his first day!! I baked him his GIANT monster cookie he gets every year on the first day of school, after school. As we talked about his day he says, "I really didn't like the first day of 3rd grade." "Why?" I asked. "Well, all we did was projecty stuff and that's boooorring. I'd rather do math." I busted out laughing. This kid hasn't liked to do crafts, color or any thing of the sort since he was a toddler! I couldn't get the kid to color a coloring book for the life of me. I thought he'd 'grow into it' when he got older. Nope. He hasn't. Oh well. At least he's a great student who loves to learn and can make lots of friends. :)

12 Years

August 7, 2011.
Today we've been married 12 years. We celebrated by going golfing and then hit up a brewery for food and beer afterwards. We are terrible golfers. Threw a couple clubs, said some cuss words and laughed at each other. That was the fun part. smile.

Summer Vacation

We decided to take a family trip to Silverwood Water and Theme Park in Idaho. It was a quick 6 hr drive 3 days and two night stay. The first day we spent at the city park beach playing in the water, making sand castles, eating snow cones, eating hot dogs, and paddle boating. The next day we headed for the water park and spent 6 hours riding the waves, going down slides, laying in the sun and riding in tubes! It was so much fun. After that we spend the next 4 hours at the theme park. Now, this is honestly the first time Xander has really ever been on any 'real' rides. So,  DAD decides the Tremors roller coaster would be a good start! Holy Crap - I don't  think Xander could even scream he was so scared! But he liked it, too he said.

CITY PARK BEACH

Chris burying Xander in the sand and making him have 'boobs!' It was so funny.

FUN AT BOULDER BEACH!

Cub Scout Summer Camp Out!

**P a R t Y**

"COME JOIN US
 FOR SOME WATER GUN
FUN!"

Xander turned 8 and he wanted to celebrate with friends this year with water guns and water balloons! We decided Splash Park would be perfect. Friends and family had fun getting soaked, eating cupcakes, and ice cream sandwiches! Lucky for the boys the ice cream truck came ring-a-linging along and Xander wanted to buy his friends fudge bars with some of his birthday money. He was blessed with GREAT presents from everyone!

After the party, Xander had a friend stay the night to celebrate the rest of the evening. He chose his best friend Spencer, who was in his 2nd grade class, played football with, both are in the same cub scout den together and also are involved in the same summer camp together. These boys have a blast together. We ordered pizza for dinner, and low-and-behold, GRANDMA judy shows up from outa town for a nice visit! We visited with her for a bit, took a few pics, and OF COURSE Spencer had to join in for one! HA! After that, we took the boys Go Carting. They spent the rest of the evening playing in the pool, jumping on the trampoline, watching movies, and eating popcorn. They finally settled down, but lay awake all night playing their DS's until they couldn't hold their arms up anymore to play! Xander had a fantastic 8th birthday celebration!

Celebrating Xander

July 13, 2011 my baby boy turned 8 years old.  Today Xander woke up to 8 helium balloons (tied down with weights) and a big birthday banner! He was so surprised when he woke up to see the bedroom decorated for him! After that, he was served breakfast in bed: his favorite chocolate chip pancakes, strawberries, juice and a very special cake just for him! Next, we celebrated by taking a float trip down the Madison. After the two hour float we got ready and took Xander to a surprise BBQ at our neighbors house. We had so much fun. When we got home he shouted, "THIS WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!"
