Mother's Day

My Mother's Day Card from Xander:

My mom's name is Danielle. She is as beautiful as a flower.
I especially like it when she smiles because then I feel as happy as I ate a piece of chocolate.
My mom really makes laugh when she dose the type writer on me. But, you know, I can also make my mom laugh like the time when I was playing with the bean bag and I flew over the top of her!
What I like most about my mom is her hair. Whenever we're together what I like to do best with my mom is to go to the park. Once when I was sad, my mom made me feel better by making funny faces.
I like to hug my mom because it makes me happy. The nicest thing my mom ever did for me was take me to a Bobcat football games Live! I wish I could do something nice for my mom like take her to workout.
I think my mom knows how to take care of me better than anyone else in the entire world.
I think my mom is the BEST in the whole world because she takes me places.
I know my mom loves me because, I am ME.
I love my mom because she loves me!

Easter Decor 2011

For Easter this year we decided to do something a little different than the common, "dyed easter eggs." Xander is getting older and mom needs to start pullin all the cool tricks outa the bag. So, we decided to make paper mache eggs and fill them with money. Xander will paint them and give them to his cousins as a gift for Easter.

Busy*Busy*Boy = Busy*Busy Parents

PHEW! Xander has been a busy kid and we have been right there along with him. We wouldn't have it any other way either.  It is a joy to have such a great kid who really does the best he can do at everything. He is not afraid to try new things and if  'everyone' is there he wants to be there, too. This year was his first year to play basketball and he learned so much. Even though Saturday morning games at 8 am were hard - we survived!!

*PINEWOOD DERBY-CUB SCOUTS*
Xander's first year in cub scouts and OF COURSE we have to do the pinewood derby! Chris and Xander worked very hard on this car. I think it meant just as much to Chris that Xander won 'something' as it did to Xander. The night before the race Xander prayed he would win. He woke up the day of the race and said he actually had a dream he won. Oh Lord Chris and I thought, what if he doesn't? How devastating it could be. So, we talked with Xander and prepared him emotionally that he might not win. And all that mattered was how much fun it was working with his dad on this car and that he did his best.
In the end, he didn't win the fastest. Even though he won more races than he lost. But, he did get a trophy by popular vote for, "BEST SHOW." It literally was a miracle that he won because there so many great cars there. God does answer prayers. And now we have one proud and happy little boy!
